Baseball Recap: Fort Wayne North Side Takes a Loss

Fort Wayne North Side extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 on Tuesday.

As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger's part, Sullivan Hogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hogan was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That hit was his first of the season.

In other batting news, KC Pieper was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Hudson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Fort Wayne North Side will face off against Fort Wayne Wayne at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they will challenge Logansport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 3.3, the Berries 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
