Softball Recap: Gulf Breeze Comes Up Short

Gulf Breeze and Milton squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Gulf Breeze had to settle for second. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Dolphins couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gulf Breeze saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Hersom, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Gulf Breeze has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Milton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11.

Gulf Breeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milton, they will face off against Niceville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
