Southern Alamance and Middle Creek squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Southern Alamance had to settle for second. They and the Mustangs were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 31-30 defeat. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Southern Alamance still got an impressive performance from Jacob Alexander, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries. The Patriots are 7-1 when Alexander posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Lex Sevilla had a dynamite game For Middle Creek., throwing for 342 yards and three TDs. Those 342 passing yards gave Sevilla a new career-high. Middle Creek also got help from Tracy Harrington Jr, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Southern Alamance's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Middle Creek, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Southern Alamance does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middle Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 31-24 win against Northern Nash on the 28th.
