Soccer Recap: Lake Wales Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Lake Wales's offense. They lost 5-0 to the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Hawks are ranked 79th).

Lake Wales has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they pushed their record up to 8-2-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lake Wales will square off against McKeel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. McKeel Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lake Wales surely won't give up without a fight. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Orangewood Christian on the 11th.
