Softball Recap: Churchland Takes a Loss

If Churchland was riding high fresh off their 16-2 takedown of Norcom on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Truckers lost 13-3 to the Granby Comets on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Truckers in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Churchland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Thompson's first of the season.

Churchland's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Granby, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Churchland will square off against Denbigh at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.29 runs per game on average), something the Truckers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Granby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
