Basketball Game Preview: Western Plains Bobcats vs. Golden Plains Bulldogs

Western Plains is 0-5 against Golden Plains since December of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Bulldogs. Western Plains will be strutting in after a victory while Golden Plains will be coming in after a defeat.

Western Plains is headed out to face Golden Plains after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 47-30 win over Logan/Palco on Friday.

Western Plains' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madelyn Kraus led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was Kraus' fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Briand, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 16-16 at halftime, Golden Plains was not quite Cheylin's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 36-31 to the Cougars. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Western Plains came up short against Golden Plains in their previous meeting back in February, falling 37-33. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
