Volleyball Game Preview: West Wolfpack vs. Lodi Flames

The West Wolfpack will take on the Lodi Flames at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

West is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Mary's just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2.

West actually scored more points across those five sets (103-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 10-25, 15-10.

West might have lost, but man, Matthew Deleon was a machine: he had 12 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Deleon has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Lodi had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bulldogs.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lodi got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 25-17, 24-26, 15-13.

Lodi's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

West was able to grind out a solid win over Lodi in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Will West repeat their success, or does Lodi has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
