Baseball Recap: Rock Academy Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Rock Academy had won four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 11-3 to make it five. They put the hurt on the Pacific Ridge Firebirds with a sharp 17-5 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Rock Academy got a massive performance out of Ethan Daldo, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Daldo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jace Daldo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rock Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

As for Pacific Ridge, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-7. Firebirds fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Rock Academy since on Wednesday.

On Pacific Ridge's side, Cal Chivers was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Chivers is becoming a predictor of the Firebirds' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Miles Labovitch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Rock Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pacific Ridge: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
