Football Recap: Stanley Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Stanley's offense. They were outmatched by the Bishop Ryan Lions and fell 31-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Jays in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost seven in a row.

Stanley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bishop Ryan, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Stanley will challenge South Prairie/Max on Friday. Stanley will be up against South Prairie/Max's rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bishop Ryan, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Des Lacs-Burlington on Friday. The Lakers' defense has only allowed 10.8 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
