Football Recap: Spalding Comes Up Short

Spalding had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it seven. They were beaten by the Sandy Creek Patriots 39-9. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Jaguars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Sandy Creek, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 28 points or more this season.

Amari Latimer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 104 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Caleb Hill was another key player, throwing for 137 yards and one TD.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spalding will face off against Whitewater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sandy Creek, they will challenge Fayette County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 45.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
