Recap: Wahkiakum Mules vs. Ocosta Wildcats
The Wahkiakum Mules entered their tilt with the Ocosta Wildcats with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Wahkiakum took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-23 victory over Ocosta. Considering Wahkiakum has won three matchups by more than 36 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Zakkary Carlson had a dynamite game for Wahkiakum, rushing for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 307 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Carlson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Johnson, who gained 121 total yards and two touchdowns.
Ocosta's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Martin, who gained 139 total yards.
Even if they lost, Ocosta's defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Wahkiakum's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.67 points. As for Ocosta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Wahkiakum will head out on the road to face off against Adna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Adna is ranked 216th, while Wahkiakum is ranked 237th). Ocosta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
