Basketball Game Preview: Southwestern Wildcats vs. Darlington Redbirds

Southwestern is 2-8 against Darlington since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Southwestern Wildcats will challenge the Darlington Redbirds at 7:30 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Darlington is hoping to do what Scales Mound couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Southwestern's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Southwestern was the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over Scales Mound. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Darlington got the win against Westby on Saturday by a conclusive 81-56. While fans of the Redbirds might be used to big wins, the 25-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Southwestern's record is now 8-1. As for Darlington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Southwestern ended up a good deal behind Darlington in their previous matchup back in February, losing 65-48. Can Southwestern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
