Basketball Game Preview: The Academy Wildcats vs. Holy Family Tigers

The Academy Wildcats and the Holy Family Tigers will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

The Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 victory over Denver West. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The Academy relied on the efforts of Aydon Austin, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 19 points and six steals, and Dominik Konarski, who shot 57% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Austin is becoming a predictor of The Academy's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 10-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Boychuk, who posted nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Holy Family won against The Classical Academy last Friday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Holy Family blew past The Pinnacle, posting a 53-17 win. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Holy Family's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for The Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
