Basketball Recap: William Floyd Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Chloe Campbell and Savannah Pantry

If William Floyd was feeling good fresh off their 66-46 takedown of Smithtown East two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The William Floyd Colonials fell to Smithtown West 50-45. The Colonials were not able to make up for their loss to Smithtown West from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

William Floyd's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Pantry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds, and Chloe Campbell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Campbell is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last seven games she's played. Taleah Coppola was another key player, putting up nine points.

William Floyd has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Smithtown West, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

William Floyd will face off against Riverhead at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smithtown West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
