Basketball Recap: North Nodaway Takes a Loss

North Nodaway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 58-28 loss at the hands of East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 30 points.

East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]'s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lizzie Schlueter led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Schlueter has scored at least a third of East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax]'s points. Another player making a difference was Grace Oswald, who went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and six steals.

North Nodaway's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax], they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
