Softball Recap: Charleroi Find Success

Charleroi won the last time they faced Steel Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Cougars walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Ironmen. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

The team relied heavily on Nori Stringa-Smith, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Charlton, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The win got Charleroi back to even at 4-4. As for Steel Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Charleroi is set to challenge their familiar foe McGuffey at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Steel Valley will square off against rival East Allegheny at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
