Football Game Preview: Hoover Patriots vs. Sunnyside Wildcats + How To Watch

Hoover is 0-10 against Sunnyside since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Sunnyside took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hoover, who comes in off a win.

Hoover is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Fresno: they outscored them in every quarter. The Patriots blew past the Warriors 37-12 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Hoover's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cam Mobley, who threw for 189 yards and four TDs, and Paul Escoto, who rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hoover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Sunnyside's offense. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 19-0 to Roosevelt. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Sunnyside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hoover, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Hoover was dealt a bruising 58-6 loss at the hands of Sunnyside in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
