Baseball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Coronado Islanders

For the second straight game, University City will face off against Coronado. The Centurions will head out to square off against the Islanders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games University City has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

University City fell victim to Coronado and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Islanders by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Centurions in their meetings with the Islanders: they've now lost four in a row.

University City got a good showing from Trevor Lee, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, University City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Antenore, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Antenore's first of the season.

The win (which was Coronado's third in a row) raised their record to 18-7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for University City, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
