Given Boone's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mckenna Murphy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Thomas, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and six steals.
When it comes to explaining why Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allison Lagrone. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five steals and two blocks.
Boone's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.
Boone will head out on the road to face off against Downey Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Downey Christian is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will take on The First Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
