Volleyball Game Preview: Arvada West Wildcats vs. Greeley Central Wildcats

Arvada West will face off against Greeley Central at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Arvada West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Niwot, who was ranked 13th at the time (Arvada West was ranked 11th). The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Arvada West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Greeley Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Overland.

Greeley Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22.

Greeley Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Arvada West, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Everything went Arvada West's way against Greeley Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Arvada West made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Arvada West repeat their success, or does Greeley Central has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
