Basketball Recap: Harding County Takes a Loss

Harding County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Timber Lake Panthers. The Ranchers were probably out for revenge after losing 67-56 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Harding County still got an impressive performance from Evan Meyer, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those 18 points gave Meyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Ginsbach, who went 5 for 9 en route to 10 points.

Harding County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Timber Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Harding County will venture away from home to challenge New England at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timber Lake, they will welcome Kadoka at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kadoka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
