Softball Preview: Fike Demons vs. Nash Central Bulldogs
Fike is 7-1 against Nash Central since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Fike Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nash Central Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Fike turned things around against Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 22-0 shutout. The Demons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Gracie Vincent was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Vincent was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those runs were her first of the season.
