Preview: Cassopolis Rangers vs. Marcellus Wildcats
Cassopolis is 9-1 against Marcellus since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Cassopolis Rangers will get right back to it and host the Marcellus Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Cassopolis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Monday.
On Monday, Cassopolis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Lawton.
Despite their loss, Cassopolis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tre Peterson Evans, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Peterson Evans is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenny May, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Marcellus had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 46-38 victory over Bloomingdale.
Cassopolis' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Marcellus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Cassopolis strolled past Marcellus when the teams last played back in January by a score of 71-53. Will Cassopolis repeat their success, or does Marcellus have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
