Softball Recap: Wallenpaupack Area Takes a Loss

Wallenpaupack Area entered their matchup against Valley View on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buckhorns lost 8-2 to the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Buckhorns have suffered since March 26, 2024.

Lucy Babyak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Sarah Decker also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wallenpaupack Area and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Valley View, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1-1.

Coming up, Wallenpaupack Area will face off against Minisink Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buckhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Valley View, they will challenge Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
