Basketball Recap: Nate Tejan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Omaha Christian Academy

Weeping Water came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 53-47 victory over the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-35 back in December of 2024.

Weeping Water got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Tejan out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Tejan has become a key player for Weeping Water: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 15 points, but 5-15 otherwise. Gus McGill was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards.

Weeping Water smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Weeping Water's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Omaha Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

Weeping Water has already played their next match, a 71-31 defeat against East Butler on the 25th. Omaha Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
