Volleyball Recap: Parkway South Patriots vs. Lindbergh Flyers
If Parkway South was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Seckman last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Lindbergh Flyers on Thursday. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Flyers 25-20 in the first set.
Parkway South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-14.
Their offense was headlined by Sam Visintine and Owen Darrough, who picked up 14 kills apiece. They got some help from Caden Rushing and his 34 assists. Jacob Sidwell controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Lindbergh can attribute much of their success to Tyler White, who had 14 digs and one assist.
Parkway South's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lindbergh, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway South will face off against Parkway Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Colts will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lindbergh, they will take on Chaminade at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
