While Bulldogs fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They blew past Manor 60-34 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Bowie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cruz Tello out in front who threw for 144 yards and five touchdowns. Bowie also got a significant boost from Rhys Moreno, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Bowie's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Joaquin Tijerina and Reagan Cooper. Tijerina didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made five total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
