Baseball Recap: Finneytown Takes a Loss

Finneytown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Titans. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Kendall Richard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Jacob Steel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Finneytown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for St. Bernard-Elmwood Place, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

While Finneytown had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
