Baseball Recap: West Scranton Invaders vs. North Pocono Trojans

West Scranton had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-12 to make it four. They came up short against the North Pocono Trojans, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 on April 10th.

As for North Pocono, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4. Considering they have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For North Pocono's part, Cael Hafner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Hafner has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Josh Staples was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jason Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
