Softball Recap: Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Takes Down Tharptown in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Lindsay Lane Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Tharptown Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Not much got past Madi Tucker, who gave up just five hits to keep Tharptown off the board. Tucker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leigha Carder, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Briley Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy pushed their record up to 28-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.8 runs. As for Tharptown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-21 record this season.

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy will square off against Cold Springs at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Tharptown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
