Baseball Recap: Kennedy Catholic Comes Up Short

Kennedy Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Archbishop Molloy Stanners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gaels of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Ryan D'Ambrosio led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Jorge, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kennedy Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Archbishop Molloy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Kennedy Catholic will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Monsignor Scanlan at 4:15 p.m. on April 1. As for Archbishop Molloy, they will be playing at home against Iona Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
