Marshall had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Lincoln Tigers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Give Marshall's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Lincoln from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Luis Gonzales led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Lincoln, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marshall will square off against rival Eagle Rock at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln is set to take on their familiar foe Wilson at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
