Softball Recap: Hamlin Comes Up Short

Hamlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 14-2 to the Cross Plains Buffaloes.

Hamlin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinzlee Gruben, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Gruben also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Hamlin's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Cross Plains, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coming up, Hamlin will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Anna at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hamlin has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Cross Plains, they will venture away from home to challenge Menard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
