Baseball Recap: Harmony Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

Harmony barely beat Melbourne Central Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Hustlers with a sharp 14-7 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Longhorns brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Raul Romay looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Harmony got a massive performance out of Matt Grau, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Grau a new career-high. Jose Scrofani was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Harmony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Melbourne Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .344.

Harmony pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

Harmony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Cocoa Beach at 4:30 p.m. The Minutemen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Hustlers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
