Volleyball Recap: Whitewater Takes a Loss

Whitewater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monroe Cheesemakers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 18, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Whitewater couldn't get the W, but boy did they fight for it: two sets took extra rallies. The final score came out to 21-25, 26-24, 24-26, 26-24, 15-10.

Emery Kachel paced Whitewater's offense, picking up six kills. Kachel got some help from Mya Graves-Koran and her nine assists. Sydney Schilt controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Whitewater's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Monroe, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.

Whitewater has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Jefferson on the 2nd. As for Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against East Troy on the 2nd.
