Baseball Game Preview: Andrews Wildcats vs. Cherokee Braves

For the second straight game, Andrews will face off against Cherokee. Andrews will host Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Andrews has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Andrews came up short against Cherokee on Tuesday, falling 11-5. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logan Hyde was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Hyde was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Drew Dartez and Dawson Stalcup did some serious damage despite the final result: Dartez scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Stalcup scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three hits gave Dartez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Sutton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cherokee, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.
