Football Recap: Springfield Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Kira Balcom and Kailie Hill

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pleasant Hill Billies.

Kailie Hill and Kira Balcom certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Hill picked up 16 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Balcom threw for 71 yards and two TDs.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pleasant Hill, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Springfield will take on rival Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pleasant Hill is set to challenge their familiar foe Thurston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
