Baseball Recap: Platteview Comes Up Short

Platteview blew Crete out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Crete got their revenge. The Trojans fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Trojans have suffered since April 10th.

Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Crete, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platteview will take on Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy on Friday. As for Crete, they will square off against Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
