Basketball Recap: Penobscot Valley Howlers vs. Dexter Tigers

After soaring to 57 points the game before, Penobscot Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dexter Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Howlers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-34 back in December of 2024.

Leading Dexter to victory were Bryce Cooper and Kody Kimball. Cooper went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Kimball went 6 for 7 en route to 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Kimball a new career-high in field goal percentage (86%). Another player making a difference was Ethan Doherty, who posted five points.

Penobscot Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Dexter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
