Basketball Recap: Sandy Creek Comes Up Short

Sandy Creek lost against Thayer Central last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the Sandy Creek Cougars and the Thayer Central Titans didn't end well, with the Sandy Creek Cougars falling 52-35.

Thayer Central found their leader in freshman Leah Havel, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 21 points and eight boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Havel has scored at least a third of Thayer Central's points. Addie Marsh was another key player, putting up ten points.

Sandy Creek's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Thayer Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Sandy Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-38 loss against Tri County on the 8th. As for Thayer Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 43-40 victory against David City on the 6th.
