Basketball Recap: Elk Rapids' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Elk Rapids won the last time they faced Boyne City and things went their way on Friday too. The Elk Rapids Elks walked away with a 51-44 win over the Boyne City Ramblers. Given the Elks' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Ramblers are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elk Rapids is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Boyne City, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk Rapids will host Charlevoix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyne City has already played their next match (against Cheboygan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
