Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Beaumont School on Wednesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Blue Streaks. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Lexi Simon was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Sienna Steinmetz was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 13.6.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Beaumont School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
