Baseball Recap: Riverside Drops Highest Score of Season Against Orange

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). They blew past the Orange Lions 26-2 on Thursday. With that victory, the Beavers brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Ethan Hay looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Lelynd Chapman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Spencer Short, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Riverside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Orange, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Riverside will take on Cleveland Heights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orange, they will challenge West Geauga at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
