Union Area came out on top against St. Joseph on Tuesday thanks in part to Chris Staph's efforts. Staph tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, which was good enough to also set a new career-high in strikeouts.

Staph's strong effort led Union Area over St. Joseph and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Scotties are a perfect 10-0 against the Spartans going back to April of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
