Volleyball Recap: Cocalico Eagles vs. Freedom Patriots

Cocalico unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Freedom Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Freedom was led to victory by Ayden Willman and Joe Braun. Willman had 38 kills, 12 digs, and 12 blocks, while Braun had eight kills, eight blocks, six digs, and two aces. Willman has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 22 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Fleckenstein, who had 14 digs and four aces.

Looking ahead, Cocalico is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Elizabethtown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom has already played their next matchup (against Abington Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
