Softball Recap: Helena Takes a Loss

Helena saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to the Auburn Tigers. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marlee Parsons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Helena saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Storey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Helena's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Auburn, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Helena wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-1 loss against Central on the 1st. As for Auburn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Sardis on the 1st.
