Workman is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on West Adams with a sharp 26-6 victory on Friday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jairo Hernandez and Sam Caneja. Hernandez rushed for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Caneja rushed for 70 yards and one TD on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Bassett took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-20 win over Savanna. The Olympians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 33 points or more this season.
Bassett didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daniel Perez and Chris Kleinfelter. Perez has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times he's played.
The victory made it two in a row for Bassett and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Workman, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Workman was dealt a bruising 46-6 loss at the hands of Bassett when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lobos were down 28-0.
