Softball Recap: Whitnall Gets the Win

Whitnall picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Bay Port Pirates 5-4.

Reese Johnsen spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Whitnall's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mercedes Mullen, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Whitnall's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Bay Port, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
