Softball Recap: Pender Takes a Loss

Pender lost against Heide Trask back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots lost 14-8 to the Titans. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since March 12th.

Alyna Rooks put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Katie Iddings and Kenyatta Jacobs stepped up to the plate in a big way. Iddings went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, while Jacobs went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

This is the second loss in a row for Pender and nudges their season record down to 13-7. As for Heide Trask, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

While Pender had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
