Basketball Recap: Davidson Day Comes Up Short

Davidson Day extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-4. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Concord Academy Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (55), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

As for Concord Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 73.6 points this season.

Concord Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Minlend, who went 10-for-16 en route to 24 points and five rebounds. Those 24 points gave Minlend a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Raper, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Coming up, Davidson Day will challenge Lake Norman at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Concord Academy, they will take on Greensboro Day School at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
